Liquid Fillers for Oil Products

The word oil can bring to mind a number of different products.  My first thought is motor oil, but someone who enjoys cooking may first think of corn oil, olive oil or similar products.  A hunter's first thought may be gun oil.  Whichever oil first springs to your mind, these products do have one thing in common when it comes to packaging.  Most oil based products will be more viscous than water or other free flowing liquids and thus will require packaging machinery to suit their thickness.

 

Most of the liquid fillers for thicker products like motor oil, olive oil and similar products will be of one of two types.  Both pump filling machines and piston fillers work well with thicker products.  For different oil type products, a pump filler can be used to handle low, medium or even high production demands.  Pump filling machines will use one pump for each fill head on the machine and can be manufactured in tabletop, semi-automatic and automatic models.  The pumps - such as centrifugal, gear, positive displacement and others - will be matched to the product and the production level desired.  Tabletop machines can start with a single fill head, while automatic machines can utilize multiple fill heads to increase production.  

 

The other alternative for the more viscous oil type products is a piston filling machine.  Piston fillers are also ideal for thick products, but can also handle products with particulates as well.  The piston filler is also available in tabletop, semi-automatic and automatic models, so as to work with different production demands.  The piston in the filling machine will retract from a cylinder, pulling the oil into the cylinder.  Reversing directions, the piston will push the product out of the cylinder and into the waiting container or containers.  Since the volume of the cylinder remains constant, the piston filling machine is able to consistently provide an accurate volumetric fill.
